Idea You Can Steal 81: Hard Times Get Harder


Now that I’ve launched my Odysee channel, you may see inspiration posts like these appear less frequently. I’m still keeping my promised twice-a-month posting schedule; I’m just splitting my time evenly between the channel and the blog. The monthly blog post may be a set of writing prompts, a story idea you can steal, or a new Friday Fiction piece. It just depends on what I have prepared that month.

For June, I have an Idea You Can Steal. Hope this is enough to entertain your muse for a few weeks.

Some type of natural disaster befalls the land: drought, famine, flooding, wildfires, etc. The land had previously been wracked by civil war. Yet in the disaster’s wake, both sides are unable to keep fighting. An unofficial ceasefire is in effect as the people focus on survival. How do the continued hard times compare to the previous war? Which was objectively worse? How can this natural disaster help heal the national divide that sparked this civil war in the first place?
