Writing Prompts 67

A belated Merry Christmas in July to all of my Southern Hemisphere readers. Here’s a new batch of writing prompts for all of you to enjoy.

  1. Cross the medicine man, and he’ll curse you with disease. What kind of symptoms do the stricken suffer from? Bonus points if the disease isn’t fatal.
  2. The kingdom of the dead has billions of citizens. So it must have one heck of a bureaucracy. How is working a desk job within the guts of this bureaucracy an eternal punishment in its own right?
  3. “I shall grant you your deepest desires. I only ask for a very simple thing in return.” A certain number of years from the recipient’s life.
  4. Set this story in an age before computers and the internet. Why must the town library be closed down? What happens to all of its books?
  5. Write about the founding of a new nation.

If you use any of these prompts, please share your story or a link to your story in the comments below.
