This is it. The final batch of writing prompts. If this news feels sudden, read this post from last September. Everything I said then still applies. I just had to postpone this entry for a month because of some sudden real life issues.
All that remains is to say goodbye to this long-time blog feature. With this post, I have shared 350 writing prompts in total. That’s nearly one for every day of the year. (You’ll use Ideas to Steal the remaining six days, right?) I hope you enjoy these last five prompts like you’ve enjoyed the other 345.
- Write about someone deliberately breaking a local taboo to make a point.
- Write about a troop of soldiers tasked with protecting a mountain pass. What strange threats must they defend their territory from?
- Write about a risky plan that goes sideways but is ultimately successful.
- Write about how your main character succeeds (or fails) to make a good first impression.
- Is there such a thing as having too many friends? Write about a gregarious extrovert who builds a large friend group only to become the reason why it breaks up.
If you use any of these prompts, please share your story or a link to your story in the comments below.
