Idea You Can Steal 87: The Empress’s Daughter

Forgive me if I don’t have the mental bandwidth to craft an eloquent introduction. March and early April were really stressful for my family — some big, sudden changes we had to adapt to. Everything’s settled now, yet I didn’t realize how exhausted I was until this week.

In spite of all that, I have slowly been preparing some cool stuff for you, including something I hope to share in a few months. Until then, here’s a story idea for your Easter basket.

The empress’s daughter takes pity on a political prisoner. She visits the prisoner in their cell. Bonus points if she isn’t motivated by lust or romantic feelings. Their conversations allow the prisoner to hope that they won’t die but will be freed one day. What unusual way does the prisoner’s hope come true through the royal daughter’s actions?
