Here it is. My final Idea to Steal. Long-time readers would have seen this coming, but if you want the full context, read this post from September 2024. My thoughts haven’t changed in two years. It just took me that long to reach my nice, round number of 100.
After this post, things will likely stay quiet here for a while. (More quiet than they have been.) Just know that I’m cooking up something big. Yes, I am also working on the next chapter of Reclaiming the City and hope to release it in 2027.
I hope you enjoy this Idea to Steal like you have the other 99. Till we meet again, Happy Halloween and happy writing.
One night, a supernatural entity appears before a hero and his warband in their camp. This entity is aligned with the forces of good, but who and what they are is up to you. They could be an angel, the ghost of a saint, a deity’s avatar, a fairy noble, or some other kind of helpful saint.
The supernatural entity promises to aid the hero in ending this long, tragic war. But the hero must recruit a long-dead monarch first. (At least, people believe the monarch to be dead.) Where and how will the hero find the monarch? Will the warband have to pull a jailbreak? Lift a curse? Reach through time? Raise the dead?
What is the monarch’s connection to this supernatural entity? How will the monarch’s re-emergence change the world and the tides of war?
