Writing Prompts 65

The universe: Greetings, Earthlings. Here’s a solar eclipse for you.

Me: Hey. The sky’s doing something neat.

Everyone else: THE WORLD IS ENDING!!! *mass panic*

Sorry y’all, but I can’t help but laugh. This reminds of the Y2K Bug way too much. Any other millennials here who remember that hysteria? Fun times.

Anyway, here’s some writing prompts to enjoy between now and… doomsday, I guess?

  1. Why would someone guard their rival on a particularly dangerous night?
  2. Write about how revealing a long-held secret leads to conflict in the short-term but reconciliation in the long-term.
  3. A man desired revenge against one woman. What prompts him to include more people in his list of targets?
  4. Write a war story from the perspective of the mechanics, doctors, chaplains, and cooks who stay away from the front lines.
  5. Write about a shy man’s pursuit of his beloved.

If you use any of these prompts, please share your story or a link to your story in the comments below.
